Roxanna Gapstur, PhD and RN, took the reins at York-based WellSpan Health System earlier this month and recorded a video intro that we wanted to share.
Before landing the CEO job this past September, Gapstur was president of Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, where she rose in the corporate ladder after beginning as senior director of inpatient services.
Gapstur received her PhD from the University of Minnesota and attended undergraduate at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. Gapstur replaced Dr. Kevin H. Mosser, who retired January 1. Gapstur is the third CEO since the organization was created in 1998, and the first woman to serve in that role.
In the official release about beginning her tenure, Gapstur says of WellSpan, “We want to continue to be the first choice for health care in our communities through exceptional experience, affordable care and high levels of quality and safety.”
Lebanon County’s Good Samaritan Hospital joined WellSpan Health in 2015, and Philhaven in 2016.
