A tractor-trailer accident closed I-81 North yesterday morning just past the I-78 interchange in Union Township.
The crash occurred when the tractor trailer lost control on the slush covered road and began to slide. While sliding, the truck jackknifed, with the vehicle coming to rest off the roadway with the trailing unit blocking the right hand lane of I-81 North. The time of the crash was approximately 4:00am.
Motter’s Towing helped pull the truck back onto the roadway, and it was driven from the scene by the operator.
The truck sustained minor body damage and the air line fittings were broken off the truck.
Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT and Motter’s Towing.
