For 27 years, Pucillo’s Pizza has been serving Lebanon County with its authentic Italian gourmet pizzas and homemade meals.
The restaurant, originally called Palumbo’s Pizza, was founded by Sabatino Pucillo in the 70s following his relocation to the United States from Italy. Palumbo’s Pizza’s first location was on E. Walnut St. in Lebanon, where the Home Depot is today. Currently, Pucillo’s is established on 1032 S. 5th Ave, Lebanon.
After Sabatino tragically passed away in 2005, Siobhan Pucillo-Hetrick took over ownership of the restaurant with her daughter, Gina Pucillo-Helm. Gina helps operate the business by taking charge of all the marketing, promotions and customer service needs.
“What makes our restaurant unique is that we are a very family-oriented establishment, most of our customers know us by name,” said Pucillo-Helm. “We take all of our customer’s concerns, good or bad, seriously and we take into consideration all of their recommendations.”
The restaurant’s most popular gourmet pizzas on the menu include the Big Tom, Shrimp Scampi, Pickle, and Italian White pizzas.
Other pizza options include the Cheese Steak, Taco, Stuffed Veggie, Philly Style, and more.
In addition to the well-known pizzas, Pucillo’s has popular dishes such as the gnocchi alla gina, chicken marsala, chicken alfredo, and lasagna. All dinners are homemade by Siobhan Pucillo-Hetrick herself. Gluten-free items are included on the extensive menu, as well as desserts and catering meal options for every customer’s special occasion.
Different, unique specials are offered each week. There is a daily pizza special that provides two large pizzas for $18.99, on Tuesdays, there is a two for $22 dinner special and on Thursdays, there is a large Sicilian pizza special for $12.50. On the weekends, they typically run specials from Friday through Sunday.
“Running our own family business can be hard at times, but it is so rewarding and worth it,” Gina said. “We have created such special bonds with most, if not all, our wonderful customers.
“The business means so much to me personally, because it is the last memory I have of my dad,” Gina continued. “Pucillo’s will forever hold a special place in my heart. The Big Tom Pizza is named after my stepdad, which I think is so cool. We joke with him daily and say, ‘Wow Tom, you’re such a popular person!’”
Pucillo’s has resumed providing dine-in options as of last week, with patio dining, curbside, and delivery also available for customers to choose from. The restaurant’s hours include Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
