The third annual Tour de Lebanon Valley, in which participants will traverse scenic Lebanon County countryside, is set for Saturday, June 12. Cyclists will choose between a 6, 25, or 62 mile route, which will take them past historical local sites, picturesque farms, and streams.
The Tour de Lebanon will be an ideal way to get some fresh air and Vitamin D in the early days of summer. In 2020, the tour was adjusted in order to create a safe experience for participants in light of the coronavirus pandemic. These adjustments included an option for cyclists to bike on their own before the date and staggered starts. Some precautions will still be in place this summer.

“We anticipate a regularly scheduled tour this year with some COVID precautions in place,” Nikki Maurer, executive director of the Community Health Council of Lebanon County and chair of the event, said. “We’ll be posting updates on the logistics and information about volunteer opportunities for the 2021 tour on our website.”
The tour will commence at the Lebanon Valley Expo Center, located at 80 Rocherty Road. Start times will vary to allow for social distancing. The family ride costs $5 per person and the metric century and mid-distance ride is $40 (before or on May 29) and $55 from May 30 until the day of the event. Children 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Cyclists must wear helmets.

“Outdoor recreation has become increasingly popular and needed … and that includes cycling,” explained Laurie Crawford, executive director of the Lebanon Valley Conservancy and committee member for the event. “Tour de Lebanon is nice because it offers options for beginners and families, as well as more avid cyclists.”
Tour de Lebanon Valley is presented by The Lebanon Valley Bicycle Coalition, The Lebanon Valley Conservancy and the Community Health Council of Lebanon County, with support from Visit Lebanon Valley.
