Lebanon County’s first mass vaccination center opened last week at 1745 Quentin Road, formerly a Kmart location. Here’s a look inside the clinic that is designed to administer approximately 3,000 shots each week.

The clinic is housed inside of a building that boasts over 117,000 square feet of space, and it’s clear that officials have taken advantage of the large ground area to keep social distancing protocols in place.
The building is known in the area as the former location of a Kmart store, which closed its doors in early 2020. However, in the meantime, the building has been occasionally used for other purposes since then.
Providers at the site will include both Lititz-based CNS Occupational Medicine and WellSpan Health. Each will operate their own “side” of the clinic. WellSpan will begin operations there in April. Additionally, local organizations like Community Health Council of Lebanon County and Lebanon County Crisis Intervention offer information and more on the sidelines.
According to Chief Clerk/County Administrator Jamie Wolgemuth, the work done inside prior to the building’s reopening included redone flooring, updated HVAC, and the addition of cables.
“We basically took an empty box of a building and made it functional with connectivity, cleanliness, and we also put up dividers and directional signs and other signage. The last two weeks have seen plenty of pallets of equipment with technology come through those doors and DES staff has been working to make the site functional,” Wolgemuth stated in an interview last week.
