Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 27, 2021 at 6:48 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 BMW 528I, driven by Operator 1, a 50 year old Lebanon man, was traveling westbound on SR 22 in Bethel Twp., just west of South Pine Grove St. Unit 1 entered the left turn lane to turn onto South Pine Grove St. when it struck Unit 2, a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup, driven by Operator 2, a 28 year old Kempton man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 28 year old Allentown woman, in the rear end, due to Operator 1 having a medical emergency. Unit 1 sustained minor scrapes and dents to its front end. Unit 2 sustained minor damage to its rear hitch. Operator 1 was transported via Life Lion to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in the City of Lebanon for further medical treatment. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Vehicle Accident – On April 10, 2021 at 3:06 a.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2020 Chrysler Voyager, driven by Operator 1, a 56 year old Hialeah, FL woman, was traveling eastbound in the left eastbound lane of I 78. Unit 1’s driver’s side front corner struck the center concrete barrier on the roadway. Upon striking the concrete barrier, Unit 1 crossed both eastbound lanes of traffic and the right shoulder and went off of the paved roadway and into the grassy berm. Unit 1 came to final rest facing southeast in the grassy berm on the right side of the roadway. Operator 1 was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and reported minor injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was transported via Bethel Community Ambulance to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in the City of Lebanon. Operator 1 was cited for Careless Driving.

Vehicle Accident – On April 18, 2021 at 11:10 a.m., this crash occurred on I 78 Westbound near mile marker 6.9 in Bethel Twp. Unit 1, a 2000 Honda Civic, driven by Operator 1, a 26 year old New Cumberland man, was traveling westbound in the left lane of travel and began drifting into the right lane, where Unit 2, a 2016 Freightliner, driven by Operator 2, a 44 year old Hudson, FL man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 49 year old Baltimore, MD man, was traveling westbound. Unit 1 steered away from Unit 2, leaving the roadway and striking the guide wire, which was the point of initial impact. After impact with the guide wire, Unit 1 reentered the travel lanes and struck Unit 2 in the 6 o’clock position. Unit 1 then hit the guide wire again in the 12 o’clock position, where it came to final rest in contact with the guide wire, facing south, partially in the left lane of travel. Unit 2 came to final controlled rest on the right shoulder of I 78 Westbound. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Careless Driving.

East Hanover Township

Harassment – On April 24, 2021 at 6:35 p.m., the female Complainant contacted PSP Jonestown after having an argument with a East Hanover Township man over text message. Upon the first man’s arrival home at his residence, located on the 10,000 block of Jonestown Rd., the verbal argument continued and escalated and a second man (the man’s brother got) involved. During the verbal argument, the second man pushed the first man using both hands against his chest. The second man related that, after pushing the first man, the first man pushed him back and a small scuffle ensued. Other parties living in the residence broke up the fight and the first man fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Both men will be cited for Harassment. The Victims/Arrestees were a 55 year old Grantville man and a 54 year old Grantville man.

Vehicle Accident – On April 24, 2021 at 8:34 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 Infiniti Q50, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Lansdale man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 19 year old Lansdale man, and Passenger 2, a 19 year old Lansdale man, was traveling southbound on I 81 Southbound near mile marker 84.6 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1 moved from the right lane to the left lane. Unit 1 exited the shoulder of the roadway, striking a cable barrier in the median on the east side of the roadway. Unit 1 reentered the travel lanes, crossing both the southbound lanes, before coming to final rest on the west shoulder of the roadway. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 did sustain minor injuries as a result of this crash, but were not transported for further medical treatment. Unit 1 sustained heavy, disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Fort Indiantown Gap Fire Department, Life Lion EMS, and Joe May’s Towing.

Residential Burglary – On April 27, 2021 at 9:33 p.m., on the 00 block of Harrison School Rd., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the request of the Complainant, who wanted to speak with troopers about her ex-boyfriend, the Arrestee, who was possibly hiding in the vacant apartment next door. The vacant apartment was found to be unsecured and a building search was conducted. The Arrestee was located inside the vacant apartment. The property owner was contacted and confirmed that the apartment in question was vacant and no one was supposed to be inside. The Arrestee was charged with Burglary and transported to the Lebanon County Central Booking Center for processing and arraignment. The Arrestee was Jarrod Long, a 41 year old Halifax man. The Victim was a 65 year old Wantagh, NY man. Charges are pending before MDJ Ditzler 52-3-04.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 23, 2021 at 2:04 p.m., this crash occurred on South 5th Ave. at its intersection with Prescott Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, a 2021 Toyota Camry, driven by Operator 1, Donald Cale, an 89 year old Middletown man, was southbound on Prescott Rd. at the stop sign to cross over South 5th Ave. Unit 2, a 2019 Chevrolet Express, driven by Operator 2, Jordan Kulp, a 24 year old Lititz man, accompanied by Passenger 1, Jonathan Mummau, a 41 year old Lancaster man, was traveling eastbound on South 5th Ave., approaching the intersection with Prescott Rd. Unit 1 proceeded through the stop sign without clearance, causing Unit 2 to strike Unit 1 in the 3 o’clock position, which was the point of initial impact. After impact, Unit 1 rotated counterclockwise and struck Unit 2 in the 9 o’clock position, before coming to final rest in the eastbound lane of South 5th Ave., facing east. After this secondary impact, Unit 2 continued off of the roadway and struck a stop sign and the concrete porch of a residence, located on the 3,000 block of South 5th Ave., where it came to final rest. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was transported via Life Lion to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 2 was transported via Life Lion. Passenger 1 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Vehicle Accident – On April 24, 2021 at 11:24 a.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Operator 1, a 48 year old Manheim woman, was attempting to turn left onto Stiegel Pike (SR 501) and Unit 2, a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, a 22 year old Myerstown woman, was traveling south on SR 501 in Heidelberg Twp. Operator 1 failed to yield to oncoming traffic and attempted to turn left in front of Unit 2, causing an angle collision. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 2 struck the left rear tire of Unit 1. Unit 1 came to final rest, facing west, in the northbound lane of SR 501, and Unit 2 came to final rest, facing south, in the southbound lane of SR 501. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Jackson Township

Theft – On April 26, 2021 at approximately 6:48 p.m., this incident occurred on North Ramona Rd. The Victim contacted PSP Jonestown to report three items of jewelry were missing from their residence. The Victims were a 44 year old Myerstown man and a 41 year old Myerstown woman. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Theft – On April 26, 2021 at approximately 2:55 p.m., this incident occurred on Golf Rd. The Victim contacted PSP Jonestown to report they received a fraudulent unemployment letter in the United States Postal Service (UPSP). The Victim reported that they never applied for unemployment. The Victim was a 50 year old Myerstown man. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Commercial Burglary – State Police responded to King St. for an attempted burglary. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown Actor(s) entered the property by unknown means sometime between April 22, 2021 at approximately 4:00 p.m. and April 25, 2021 at approximately 5:30 p.m. The unknown Actor(s) proceeded to the northside of the building and attempted to gain access to the building through a garage door by prying on it with an unknown object. They were unsuccessful in their attempts. The unknown Actor(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means of travel. The damaged property included a Garage Door, valued at $500.00.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On April 26, 2021 at 8:24 p.m., this hit-and-run crash occurred on South College St., just south of its intersection with West Maple Ave. in Myerstown Boro. This crash occurred as Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was traveling north on South College St., when it left its lane of travel and struck a speed limit sign, located on the east side of South College St. Unit 1 fled the scene and was unable to be located. It is unknown whether Operator 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

False Alarms – On April 27, 2021 at 1:12 a.m., this incident occurred on West Lincoln Ave. and North College St. PSP Jonestown troopers responded to Tosco Pizza, located at 101 West Lincoln Ave. in Myerstown Boro., for a reported burglar alarm activation. Upon troopers’ arrival, the business was found to be secure with no signs of attempted entry or criminal activity. This was the sixth false alarm in a consecutive 12-month period at this location. The business was cited for Control of Alarm Devices and Automatic Dialing Devices. Charges are pending before MDJ Verna 52-3-01.

North Lebanon Township

Retail Theft, Drug Possession – Christopher Lutz, a 30 year old Lebanon man, was charged with Retail Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after an incident at Wal-Mart, after failing to pay for $137.00 worth of merchandise.

Retail Theft – Jackson Martin, a 22 year old Palmyra resident, was charged with Retail Theft, after failing to pay for $239.00 worth of merchandise from the Lebanon Wal-Mart.

North Londonderry Township

Sale Of Tobacco – On Dec. 18, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., this incident occurred on the 1,300 block of Queen St. in Palmyra. North Londonderry Twp. police have cited a 14 year old female juvenile with Purchasing a Tobacco Product. A 15 year old Hummelstown male juvenile and Matthew Mitchell, an 18 year old Middletown man, were also charged for Selling or Providing Tobacco Products to the female juvenile. These charges included the buying and selling of vape devices.

Confinement Of Dogs, Licensing Of Dogs – On April 5, 2021 at 3:35 p.m., this incident occurred on the 800 block of Londonderry Blvd. in Palmyra. North Londonderry Twp. police have cited a 17 year old Reading male and Andrew Milian, a 19 year old Palmyra resident, with Confinement of Dogs and Licensing of Dogs following an incident in which dogs owned, or kept, by both males, strayed from their property and into the streets and onto the property of other people.

South Lebanon Township

Indecent Assault – On April 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., this incident occurred on East Walnut St. as an inmate at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility was allegedly sexually assaulted. The Victim was a 25 year old Myerstown man.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 24, 2021 at 11:42 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Ford Mustang, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Fredericksburg man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 16 year old Pine Grove female, was traveling northbound on I 81 in the area of mile marker 90.6 in the right lane. While traveling in the above listed location, Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1, and Unit 1 began spinning in a 360 degree motion. Unit 1 then left the roadway and struck the guide rail on the right shoulder with its front end as well as its rear bumper area. Unit 1 came to final rest on the right shoulder of I 81 North. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to its front and rear end. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by a personal tow. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Jay Splain. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

West Lebanon Township

DUI – James Vega, a 41 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving on a Suspended License after being involved in a traffic accident on May 16, 2020 at North 25th St. and South Alley in Lebanon.
