Throughout the month of May, Lebanon County’s Community Health Council is working with local partners to promote mental wellness. People who attend four or more events will have a chance to win a prize.
Here’s a timeline of the events being offered.
May 3 at 12 p.m.: Building Resiliency (already passed)
Lebanon County Deputy Director of DVI Mike Ritter led an online conversation about building resilience.
May 6 at 12 p.m.: Intro to Meditation
Kim Crider of WellSpan Health will lead an online guided meditation focusing on breath, mindfulness, and a body scan. Register for the free online event here.
May 9 at 2 p.m.: Wildflower Wellness Walk
A Governor Dick Park naturalist will guide participants as they identify and learn about flowers found in the park. To register for $5 (Governor Dick members) or $10 (nonmembers), call the park at (717) 964-3808 or email them at governordick@hotmail.com.
May 11 at 12 p.m.: Mindfulness and Nature
Dr. Zendarski of WellSpan Family Practice will lead an open discussion about the benefits of nature, exercise, spirituality, and relationships against stress. Register for the free online event here.
May 17 at 12 p.m.: Intro to Qigong
Vandon Tricamo of Moon Dragon Fitness will walk participants through Qigong, a traditional Chinese practice using slow movements to create health benefits. Register for the free online event here.
May 20 at 12 p.m.: Exercise for Endorphins
Lebanon Valley Family YMCA Director of Operations Darin Pickles will explain the mental health benefits created by frequent exercise. Register for the free online event here.
May 22 at 12 p.m.: Introduction to Labyrinth Walking
Advanced-Certified Labyrinth Facilitator at Governor Dick Carmel Stabley will walk participants through a labyrinth. To register for $10 (Governor Dick members) or $15 (non-members), call the park at (717) 964-3808 or email them at governordick@hotmail.com.
May 25 at 12 p.m.: Yoga for Balance and Self-Healing
WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital Community Wellness Coordinator Melanie Wells will lead a yoga session and discuss benefits of the practice. Register for the free online event here.
May 26 at 12 p.m.: Mind-Body Work and Healing
This event will discuss how individuals can use mind-body techniques to heal stress and maintain physical and mental well-being. Register for the free online event here.
