When she was eight years old, Vanessa Stickler brought her first rabbit to show at the Lebanon Area Fair. 14 years later, she not only shows rabbits but breeds and sells them.
Stickler runs Stickler’s Rabbitry, which focuses on raising Mini Rex and American Fuzzylops rabbits. As of now, she sells about 30 rabbits per year, to both in- and out-of-state buyers.
April 9, Lancaster Farming ran a feature focusing on Stickler’s business. They outline the ins and outs of rabbitry, as well as some of the challenges Stickler faces as she extends her market out of state.
