From June to August, the Tabernacle at the Mt. Gretna Campeeting (located at 428 Mt. Gretna Rd.) is celebrating its annual Heritage Festival. The tabernacle will host concerts four Saturdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m, rain or shine.

Each concert is “pay what you want,” with $10 donations appreciated. The Tabernacle does not allow smoking or alcohol.

June 19—Nicole Roberts

Nicole Roberts is a local musician and graduate of the Music Business Department at Berklee College of Music. She will perform original arrangements of famous Judy Garland songs, along with her father Andy Roberts.

“As a performer, Garland was intelligent, sincere, and enormously empathetic—traits that Nicole constantly strives to bring to her own music,” described the Heritage Festival’s brochure.

July 3—Colebrook Road

Colebrook Road is a Harrisburg-based band which performs original material that is, according to a brochure for the Heritage Festival, “a refreshing contemporary grass sound that stays very much in the traditional bluegrass mode.”

The band has five members, all who play string instruments: guitarist, lead vocalist and primary songwriter Jesse Eisenbise; banjoist, dobroist, and bass vocalist Mark Rast; mandolinist Wade Yankey; fiddler and baritone vocalist Joe McAnulty; and bassist and tenor vocalist Jeff Campbell.

August 7—Don Johnson

Don Johnson is a Virginia-raised, Harrisburg-based musician who has played in bands such as “The Don Johnson Project,” “The Playboys,” “Rupa Dupa,” “B Block Blues,” and more.

Inspired by greats such as Albert King, Buddy Guy, BB King and Jimi Hendrix, Johnson’s music is described by the Campmeeting brochure as “soulful vocals and creative guitar stylings.”

August 14—Angry Young Band: The Billy Joel Tribute

The Angry Young Band is a Philadelphia-based Billy Joel Tribute band, which the Campmeeting brochure says “recreates the energy and intimacy of Billy’s classic touring band.”

The band draws from every Billy Joel album, focusing on big hits and fan favorites in their performances. Members are pianist Matt DiMarino, drummer Jack Firneno, guitarist/keyboardist Colin Taber, and backup vocalist/percussionist Alexis Parente.
