With the end in sight for the years-long Walnut Street repaving and underground utility project, the City of Lebanon is turning its road maintenance attention to Lehman Street on the north side of town.
Beginning on Monday, July 19, work crews will be active on the following streets in the Lehman Street corridor:
- Lehman, between Freeman and 7th streets
- Church Street, between 7th and 8th streets
- Freeman Street, north from Lehman
Lebanon Mayor Sherry Capello told LebTown that, weather permitting, the contractor hopes to be done in about a week.
“They are indicating Friday – one work week,” she said. “We will track their progress as they go and provide updates.”
She added that the work zone will be active 24 hours a day until the project is completed.
Parking will not be permitted on Lehman and Church streets at any time during the project. Enforcement may include the ticketing and towing of vehicles that interfere with the work.
“Please do not attempt to bypass work crews by taking a shortcut to another part of the work zone,” said Capello. “For the safety of the work crews, including flaggers, please follow all directions from the flaggers and signage in place. If possible, motorists may want to consider using another route for the duration of the project.”
