The Friends of the Annville Free Library are ready to go with a smaller (but longer) version of the Big Book Sale that didn’t happen in 2020.

The sale will be held from Aug. 2 through 27 in the library’s lower-level community room at 216 E. Main St., Annville.

Readers can preview the sale and buy books now through the end of July, at full price ($4 hardcover, $2 paperback). Sale prices go into effect on Aug. 2, when hardcover editions drop to $2 and paperbacks and DVDs to $1. Children’s books are always 50 cents.

Sale hours will be the same as library hours, currently 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

More than 5,000 gently used books will be available, sorted into categories including current and classic fiction, mystery, history, biography, social sciences, entertainment, domestic arts, science and technology, and children’s books.

Some rare and collectible books, as well as jigsaw puzzles and DVDs, will also be on sale.

Library staff will be replenishing books throughout the event, and encourages readers to stop in often.

For more information about the sale, including pop-up bag sales, follow the Friends on Facebook or email friendsofAFL@gmail.com.
