The Cedar Crest Music Aides will host the annual Lebanon County Marching Band Exhibition on Saturday evening, Oct. 16, at Earl Boltz Stadium on the Cedar Crest campus at 115 E. Evergreen Road, Lebanon.
About 450 musicians from Lebanon County’s six public high schools – Annville-Cleona, Cedar Crest, ELCO, Lebanon, Northern Lebanon, and Palmyra – will present their halftime or competition shows.
The Lebanon Valley College marching band will be this year’s special guest, and the evening will conclude with a combined performance by all seven bands.
The event has been conducted since 2014, and is hosted by county high schools on a rotating basis.
The 2019 exhibition, the sixth, was scheduled for Cedar Crest, but was cancelled halfway through because of a severe thunderstorm. Last year’s was called off due to the COVID pandemic.
“So I guess this could be considered the 6.3 version,” said Karin Mitchell, the Music Aides’ treasurer.
Stadium gates open at 4:45 p.m., and the music will kick off at 5:45 p.m.
Admission at the gate will be $7 for adults (a $1 reduction from 2019) and $5 for students and seniors. Children under 5 will get in free. There will be no advance sale.
Food, refreshments, and music-related merchandise will be on sale.
The exhibition is an opportunity for friends, family, and the public to support music education in local schools. Each year’s proceeds go to the host school.
The Cedar Crest Music Aides support CLSD students by providing funds for uniforms, formal wear, instruments, sheet music, awards, and annual scholarships for graduating musicians.
