Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

The time has come for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. We have our standard spots, but today we ventured to a place I never heard of before. Had I not seen a comment from one of our followers about the eggs Benedict I still would not know about this place.

Located on Russell Drive in North Cornwall Township, Café Panache is hidden amongst medical and business offices between Quentin and Cornwall roads.

Offering a breakfast and lunch menu, they serve locally sourced food with a French flair.

There are a few outside tables, and the inside offers a mix of table and booth seating and a comfy couch to enjoy a cup of coffee from their expansive drink menu. The inside dining area is decorated very lively and has some modern and colorful art along the walls.

For our breakfast this morning we had the eggs Benedict ($12), croque madame ($10), baked stuffed French toast ($8), and a three-egg omelet ($7.50).

Nestled on top of an English muffin, the Benny came with a creamy and smooth hollandaise sauce that needs nothing else added.

The croque madame is a grilled ham and gruyere cheese covered in a bechamel sauce and topped with an egg. Thick slices of bread make this dish tower over your appetite. The egg on top was a great addition and the creamy bechamel allowed this to be enjoyed to the last bite.

The baked French toast was a nice, sweet addition to our breakfast palettes. This dish could have used a little more for its serving size, but the texture and flavor were spot on.

The three-egg omelet includes three additional items of your choice as well as toast. Loaded with your additional items (ours were bacon, tomato and spinach) this flat omelet provides a breakfast staple that is seasoned well and will fill you up.

To finish up, I got a chocolate croissant ($3) to take home. I warmed it up in the oven for a few minutes, and it made for a wonderful Sunday breakfast.

Our take: Café Panache offers a simple and elegant breakfast menu and coffee drinks. They take pride in the presentation of the dishes. The warm, inviting interior design is a plus for the diners. The food itself is fresh and well crafted.

You might not know this place is here — there are a few yard signs by the main roads, but you should make the effort to find this place and give it try.
