Nearly two years after the demolition was first approved, the City of Lebanon is now seeking bids for the complete removal of the Gingrich Memorial Pool in Coleman’s Park.
Sealed proposals will be accepted until 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, on PennBid, where contract documents are also available. At that point, the results will be displayed publicly on the site.
According to a notice from Mayor Sherry Capello, “The Proposal must cover all labor, equipment, materials and all other costs incidental to the work and Demolition.”
The contract must include the demolition and removal of the pool structure and meet other requirements.
The release notes that “the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the City of Lebanon reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals submitted.”
Lebanon city officials may take up to 120 days to award the contract. Then, the contractor will have an additional 120 days to complete the project.
The Gingrich Memorial Pool was constructed in 1939 and was in use for over 70 years before it was closed in 2018.
