More than 20 local nonprofits are joining forces once again to capitalize on the nationwide Giving Tuesday phenomenon.
Lebanon Gives returns on Tuesday, Nov. 30, with a text-based donation system and a nonprofit meet and greet at the LaughLounge (40 N. 7th St., Lebanon; $5 donation requested).
The group hopes to raise $40,000 this year, with proceeds split among participating nonprofits. In-kind donations and social media posts are also welcomed. The campaign officially launches on Giving Tuesday but it will be ongoing through the end of the year.
To donate, community members can text “Lebanon” to 91999. Raffle baskets will also be on display at the Lebanon Farmers Market on two consecutive Saturdays, Nov. 20 and Nov. 27.
Participating nonprofits are: Compeer, Developmental and Disability Services, Family First Health, Friends of Coleman Memorial, Habitat for Humanity, Halcyon Activity Center, Jubilee Ministries, Kenbrook Bible Camp, Lebanon Conservancy, Lebanon Family Health Services, Lebanon Rescue Mission, Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts, Lebanon YMCA, Making a Difference of Lebanon PA, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center, Shift, Spiritualation Foundation, Union Community Center, LCCM, DVI of Lebanon County, and United Way of Lebanon County.
Experts say Giving Tuesday raised $2.5 billion for U.S. nonprofits last year.
