The Palmyra Ice Hockey Club will again host the Sticks & Biscuits 5K, its Thanksgiving Day fun run/fundraiser.
With waves at 8 and 9 a.m., plus an in-between “Kids Fun Run” wave, there are plenty of ways to participate in the race and burn off some calories before indulging in a holiday feast.
Organizers note that the race may sell out, so online registrations are recommended. Registrations received by Nov. 2 will also receive a long-sleeve tech shirt, perfect for those brisk fall runs.
Advance packet pickup and late registration will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, from noon to 6:30 p.m. at Palmyra Grace Church. On race day (aka Thanksgiving Day), registration and packet pickup will be available from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m.
Awards will be given for first overall male and female runner, as well as awards for the first male and female finishing in under 40 minutes in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & up.
The course begins and finishes at In The Net, at 798 Airport Road, Palmyra.
The race is underwritten by Finkenbinder Family Funeral Homes, Travel Champs, and WellSpan Health. For more details and to register, click here.
