A Lancaster Farming podcast recently went deep on Jonestown Bank & Trust Company’s success with cannabis banking in Pennsylvania.
The podcast featured an interview between Lancaster Farming’s Eric Hurlock and JBT’s cannabis banking manager Ashley Hess.
Hess said that the bank’s initial foray into the field came late 2018/early 2019 by opening deposit relationships for the Industrial Hemp Research Pilot program. The bank has opened up to more growers in Pennsylvania, something Hess said was possible because of investment JBT made in being compliant with state and federal regulations.
“I’m proud that JBT is taking those first steps forward and really is being a trailblazer in this industry, and we’re happy to help all clients as they see needs,” said Hess in the interview.
