When the curtain goes up for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on Thursday, Nov. 4, it will be a performance some 20 months in the making.

The Lebanon Community Theatre only had a handful of showings of its now longest-running production following the global turmoil that happened to follow its March, 12, 2020 opening weekend.

The Sondheim-written musical was based on comedies by the Roman playwright Plautus and ran for 964 performances after its opening on Broadway in 1962 and won the Tony Award for best musical. The Lebanon Community Theatre production is directed by board president Rick Graybill.

Performances run through Sunday, Nov. 14. Tickets are available online or through the box office at (717) 833-4528. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., Sunday performances will begin at 2:30 p.m. Individual ticket costs range from $15 to $22 depending on day and seat.

The Lebanon Community Theatre said it would be requiring masks be worn by all non-performers regardless of vaccination status per CDC recommendations.
