Traffic along Route 422 through North Londonderry Township and Palmyra Borough will be affected Thursday, Nov. 4, and Friday, Nov. 5, as contractors revisit a section of road repaired in 2014 following the development of a sinkhole in that location.
Monitoring ports will be installed similar to the monitoring ports at the adjacent and more recent sinkole located in front of Palmyra Bowling (and the aptly named Sinkhole Saloon). The ports are used to detect settlement that might occur under the repaired section of roadway.
PennDOT said that Route 422 will remain open to travel in both directions, but drivers should be alert and drive with caution when passing through the work zone.
