A public meeting will be held later this month to gather feedback and perspectives on a proposed improvement strategy for the Greater Harrisburg and Rural Dauphin/Lebanon areas of I-81.
The meeting will be held online at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, to obtain planning-level feedback from the directly impacted communities. Registration is encouraged via the project website.
“Transportation needs across the region continue to grow while funding levels are outpaced by the cost of improvements,” said Steve Deck, executive director for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. “The final phase of the I-81 Improvement Strategy addresses the goals and implementation plan needed to compete for available funding and public input plays a key role in that process.”
Organizers said that the public meetings will be interactive and that feedback will be directly incorporated into final project playbooks used to set priorities for funding as resources become available.
