Target has confirmed a 2022 opening date for the corporation’s first Lebanon County store, to be located in the former Kmart property at 1745 Quentin Road.

The Minneapolis-based retailer acquired the former Kmart property at 1745 Quentin Road in North Cornwall Township through a $5 million transaction at the end of June. The 117,200 SF store sits on a 15.35 acre lot, surrounded by large surface parking lots. Target will be using the entire store. A spokesperson said that it will be sharing more details, “including how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local guests and the grand opening date,” closer to the opening of the store.

The property had been closed as a Kmart in early 2020 as part of a nationwide shuttering of the former big box behemoth, which had 2,486 stores at its peak in the 90’s. It was subsequently used as a county-run mass vaccination site in early 2021.

The former Kmart customer service area was transformed into a waiting room for early arrivals and family members of vaccine recipients during early 2021 when the property became a county-run mass vaccination clinic.
