Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

For tonight’s dinner, we are going to share our experience while out for a bar trivia night. As most of our friends know, we are avid, and sometimes very competitive, trivia players. On Tuesday evenings, Snitz Creek Brewery Annville hosts general knowledge trivia. Check out their Facebook as they have an event (game, music, show) almost every night of the week.

Located on Fisher Ave. just outside of the Gap property, Snitz Creek is a brew pub that offers a large dining area, speakeasy bar downstairs and in warmer months, a garage bar area to the rear. Due to an ongoing water pressure issue, they are operating with disposable plates and cups. They still have the regular silverware.

For our meals tonight we chose a Blue Mountain Bourbon Burger with fries ($17), Buffalo Chicken Salad ($14), and Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet ($8). We also had a Seltzer’s Smokehaus 16oz draft ($7) and a Tropic Storm 12oz draft ($7).

Snitz Creek serves their own beers on tap. The tap lists are constantly rotating but there are several staples that always remain. They also offer cocktails made with local libations. The Seltzer’s has strong bologna flavor. If you’re a bologna fan, this is a must try. It’s a personal favorite of mine. New to the list tonight was the tropic storm. We like to try new sour selections. While sour, it was not overpowering and finished with a strong tropical taste. Pro tip, you can have a sample of any draft before you order.

The bourbon burger came with cheddar, bacon, onion straws, and sweet bourbon BBQ sauce on a pretzel roll. The onion straws and sauce are on the bottom under the patty. This helps to keep it together as you are biting into the burger. I always order my burgers medium, and the patty was a perfectly grilled. The sweet bourbon sauce is a nice touch. I would like more of that.

The salad comes with a hearty bowl of greens and includes boneless wings with your choice of flavor. Tonight, our critic chose Nashville Hot. The standout component to this dish is the blue cheese crumbles. Plenty of crumbles are served with the salad so that strong flavor is there in most any bite.

We decided to treat ourselves to a dessert tonight. Our selection of the cookie skillet came out fresh and hot. A warm cookie mixed with a vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle made for a fine ender to the night. They have other home-made desserts available.

Our take: Snitz Creek offers a casual fare meal with monthly/seasonal specials. They have plenty happening every night of the week. Getting a quality meal is virtual guarantee. Snitz Creek serves quality beers with a rotating tap list. Enjoying a fun-filled event between trivia, bingo, or music is a bonus. The staff is very friendly and offers a welcoming atmosphere. It’s hard to go wrong out here.

We give this place ?????.
