Starting Tuesday, April 19, work will begin on rehabilitating a bridge on Route 72, just north of Awol Road in Union Township, that spans a tributary of Swatara Creek.

The existing concrete arch will be improved with a corrugated structural aluminum arch plate liner.
Southbound traffic on Route 72 will be reduced to a single lane during this project.
No specific timeline for completion of the Route 72 work was available, but the three-bridge, $1.1 million project is expected to be complete no later than Nov. 22, 2022, with Lobar Site Development of Dillsburg serving as the prime contractor.
