Three local students received $250 scholarships from Making a Difference of Lebanon, PA, at the organization’s annual awards reception.
The winners were Samantha Small (Cedar Crest High School), Camille Bucks (Cedar Crest High School), and Braeten Peters (Annville-Cleona High School.
The nonprofit hopes to increase the scholarship amount in future years.
The students applied to the scholarship opportunity by filling out an application form and writing a short essay.
The scholarships were presented in a May 5 ceremony held at the American Legion in Lebanon. The event also featured speeches by Lebanon karate wunderkind Joshua Aguirre and by Nicole Maurer Gray, executive director of the Community Health Council of Lebanon.
