Kimberly Maurer will be sentenced June 1 following her March 23 conviction of first-degree murder for the death of her 12-year-old stepson, Maxwell Shollenberger.
Maurer has been held since the trial in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility pending sentencing by Judge Bradford Charles. Maurer faces life in prison without parole, the mandatory sentence for first-degree murder in Pennsylvania.

Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf announced that she will hold a press conference in the courthouse lobby immediately following sentencing.
Hess Graf had been joined in the case by special assistant prosecutor Edward McCann, the senior assistant district attorney in Montgomery County, who offered his services for free and took a week of vacation to assist at trial. Maurer was represented in the case by court-appointed defense attorney Andrew Race.
Earlier this year, Scott Schollenberger Jr. pled guilty for the death of Maxwell and was sentenced to life without parole.
