Palmyra has a new pizza place.
Earlier this summer, Lucky’s Pizza & Ice Cream opened up shop in the former Mannino’s A&M Pizza at 757 W. Main St., the first tenant there since Mannino’s closed in October 2021.
The first restaurant opened by Sunanda “Sunny” Kambham, Lucky’s Pizza is named after Sunny’s 2-year-old golden retriever, making this quite literally a pet project of sorts for the IT consultant.
Food, he said, is his passion, and Kambham said he’s taken steps to make sure that Lucky’s is known as a high-quality restaurant with good ingredients.
Kambham said that all the ingredients in the restaurant are “top-notch,” pointing to the ice cream sourced from Windy Knoll in Chambersburg as one such example. It’s the “best” ice cream, says Sunny.
Kambham said that he signed the lease last October, with opening delayed due to COVID and a wait for the ice cream shop window. As soon as the window arrived, Kambham said, the store began its opening, taking things slowly at first to make sure everybody was trained.
Kambham said that customer feedback so far has been very good. He said the restaurant’s goal is to serve food that comes out good every time.
“Our wings are really picking up,” said Kambham. “Everybody’s talking about our wings, so I want to make this a destination for wings in the Palmyra area.”
Manager Devin Neal echoed Kambham, noting that wings have been the restaurant’s big seller so far, with “a ton of different flavors” available and more in the works. Neal said that the burgers are also really good.
Although Lucky’s doesn’t offer any specials right now, they are on the drawing board. Neal said that following Lucky’s Facebook page is the best way to stay informed of specials and seasonal menu items.
Next week, Kambham said, the restaurant will be offering BBQ and pulled pork for a limited time, an example of the seasonal items it plans to offer.
“We’re still in the phase where we’ll be rolling out a lot of stuff in the next few weeks,” said Neal.
Lucky’s is starting delivery service this week, which will be offered directly through the restaurant as well as through DoorDash.
“Food quality and friendly customer service” are the main things customers can expect at Lucky’s, Kambham said.
The restaurant’s hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday (with the exception of Tuesday, when the restaurant is closed) and Sunday noon to 7 p.m. Ice cream can be purchased at any time when the pizza shop is open.
