This Tuesday is National Night Out, an annual event that encourages relationships between law enforcement and the communities that they serve.

National Night Out events typically include food, games, and giveaways, but each community does things just a little bit differently.

National Night Out events will be held across the country, including a bunch right here in Lebanon County.

In the City of Lebanon, National Night Out will once again be held at the Salvation Army (1031 Guilford Street) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Expect to find food, games, vendors, and a bike giveaway.

The Hilltop Playground in Lebanon will also host a National Night Out event in conjunction with deputies from the Lebanon County Sheriff’s office. That event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature William Penn hotdogs, snow cones, games, face painting, and more. The Pennsylvania Game Commission and other local fire departments and EMS personnel will also be in attendance.

The Palmyra Borough Police Department will be hosting its National Night Out event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with programming at Buck Swank Stadium, the field between the stadium and municipal building, Citizen’s Fire Department, and along West Walnut Street. The first two blocks of West Walnut Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 3 p.m., with parking prohibited on these streets starting at noon. Palmyra police will be joined at the event by North Londonderry and South Londonderry police.

In Jackson Township, a Community Night Out event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fairlane Avenue Park (41 S. Fairlane Ave). Organizers are planning games, activities, music, and food vendors, plus appearances by local first responders.
