Penn State Extension is once again kicking off a fitness program meant to help get participants into the routine of strength-training.
LIFT classes – standing for Lifelong Improvements through Fitness Together – will begin Monday, Sept. 12 and be held twice weekly over a two month period.
Classes will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center (2120 Cornwall Road) at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 5:10 p.m. An additional class will be offered at Palmyra’s Palm Lutheran Church (11 W. Cherry Street) on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
During the one-hour classes, participants will do an active warmup, up to a dozen different core strength-training exercises, and an active cooldown. Instructors will also offer tips and reasons for incorporating more fruits and vegetables into a diet.
The program costs $60, and reimbursement may be available through insurance providers.
The classes are geared towards inactive to moderately active adults aged 40 and older.
For more information about the classes or to signup, visit the Penn State Extension website.
