North Cornwall Township manager Tom Long confirmed Friday morning, Aug. 19, that although nothing official has been submitted yet, the township has been working with an engineering firm regarding plans for the site.
Long said that the township first met with the engineering firm about a month ago, and although township officials had a suspicion that the Georgia-based chain was behind the outreach, it wasn’t until a followup meeting this week that the township confirmed Chick-fil-A was commissioning the preliminary investigation into feasibility of the site.
Long emphasized that nothing official has been submitted for the site, and no application has been received.
“It’s going to have to go through that whole (planning) process eventually,” said Long. “If they have interest, and they say this is going to happen, then it comes to us with a land development plan.”
Adonis Gjaka, property manager for Prestige Properties & Development, owners of the Lebanon Plaza Shopping Center, confirmed that Chick-fil-A is doing exploratory work for the site, with a lease the next step in the process.
“Once that’s established, it’s looking to be a go for them,” said Gjaka.
Update – Chick-fil-A responded to LebTown requests for comment and declined to confirm the location at this time. Through a spokesperson, the company said: “We are always evaluating potential new locations in the hopes of serving existing and new customers great food with remarkable service. While we hope to serve the Lebanon community in the future, we do not currently have any locations to confirm.”
