Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Whew… It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve done one of these. Your Lebanon Valley Food Critics are back from vacation, and we are getting ready for Season 2 of “Wing Wars.”

But today we got back into the swing of things. While looking for our meal today, we thought back to a few of you who had suggested a pizza shop out in South Lebanon.

We headed out Fifth Ave and stopped at a little place called Pucillo’s Pizza & Pasta. This stand-alone restaurant offers indoor dining as well as takeout and delivery service. Parking is to the rear as well as the only entrance.

For our meal we got the fried chicken dinner ($12), the cheesesteak hoagie with onion rings ($10 & $6) and we went back and grabbed a slice of pepperoni ($4). They offer a 3.5% discount for paying with cash.

The fried chicken came with fries and a salad. They were 4 pieces of standard bagged fried chicken. The skin was more of a cardboard texture. However, the meat was still juicy on the inside.

As everyone in the Valley knows, our one critic loves their cheesesteak hoagies. So, it was no surprise this was her meal tonight. The steak was mildly seasoned and the onion rings were the good, battered style.

Our last sampling was a slice of pepperoni. The slice was thin and had nice, hot crunch on the bottom. It was greasy, but we cleaned a little bit of that up and went on to enjoy it. I liked the sweet sauce found here. A nice slice to have to celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza day.

Our take: Pucillo’s is a small family pizza shop with that cozy family feel amongst its regulars. The critic crew were split on the style of roll for the cheesesteak. The sweet sauce on the pizza has a pleasant taste. They also offer cupcakes and frozen dessert treats by the counter. The employees are nice and appreciate you stopping out, even if it’s for a single slice of pizza.

We give this place ???.
