LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week, meet Tazer!
Tazer, aka Bubba, is an 11-year-old husky and is “the absolute best (and hairiest) boy there is,” his person, Stephanie Shaak, explains. “He absolutely loves and lives for squirrels, and has attempted to climb trees many times to say hello to one. He enjoys long walks (on or off the beach), watching Friends, going for car rides, and never says no to a swim over at Stover’s Dam. He loves to go hiking in the woods, and looks for any opportunity to get muddy.”
Tazer hasn’t had the best luck with his health, however. He only has one eye due to glaucoma, Stephanie said. “But he really has the cutest wink you’ve ever seen!”
He also went through 18 radiation treatments recently in Philadelphia “to battle a very aggressive cancerous tumor on his leg,” Stephanie said. “Unfortunately the treatment, although successful locally, was not enough to keep it from spreading to other areas.”
Anyone who has loved a pet knows what that feeling is like. Stephanie says the family is giving Tazer the best possible life in the time he has remaining.
“We are enjoying the last couple of months we have left with our most precious guy,” she said. “We can’t even imagine our world without him in it. He lights up our world, and we watch him light up faces as he smiles out the window on our drives, or trots down the sidewalk as people pass by. He is always a crowd-pleaser, a total HAM and he knows he’s handsome. People stop us just to tell us how cute he is.”
If you see Tazer, please say hello to this beautiful, brave, cancer-fighting guy!
