The Lebanon Sertoma Club has nominated Susan Blouch for Sertoma’s national recognition of a club member for service to mankind.
“Part of what the Lebanon Sertoma Club does is look for an outstanding local citizen to nominate for national recognition for service to mankind in our community,” said club president Rich Garapoli in a press release.
“The nomination itself is special and worthy of recognition, irrespective of winning the national award.”
The name “Sertoma” is itself an acronym for Service to Mankind (SErvice TO MAnkind). Sertoma is one of the oldest service clubs in the United States, with more than 10,000 members across hundreds of local clubs.
Blouch is the executive director of Lebanon Rescue Mission, where this year she created a Mobile Senior Pantry that distributes essentials to local senior citizens.

Club members note that Blouch has so many volunteer commitments. “We are not sure how Susan finds time for all of this.”
Blouch also volunteers for the American Society for Training and Development, MS Bike Tour and Walk, and HOPE International, among other community involvement.
The Lebanon Sertoma Club meets for lunch at the Downtown Lounge in Lebanon on the first and third Thursday each month at noon. More information about the club can be found on its Facebook page.
