Lebanon City Police announced Friday that an armed robbery had been interrupted while in progress on Thursday evening, Nov. 17, in Lebanon.
Police said in the news release that cops were initially dispatched to 521 Lehman Street at 10:18 p.m. for a report of a man with a gun.
Police arrived shortly afterwards and interrupted a robbery in progress, according to the release.
Lebanon police said that they spoke with the man and woman who had been victims of the break-in. Police said the victims relayed that they had initially opened the apartment door after hearing yelling when the subject forced his way into the apartment, brandishing a gun and demanding money.
According to the police account, the intruder continued to threaten and strike one of the victims until police were able to intervene.
Tyshaun Hayes, a 30-year-old Long Island, NY, man was arrested by Lebanon City Police. Hayes was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Aurelis Figueroa and remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail. Hayes faces charges of Robbery, Burglary, Simple Assault, and Terroristic Threats.
