A safety improvement is headed to Heidelberg Township through PennDOT’s Automated Red-Light Enforcement (ARLE) program.
Heidelberg Township was approved for its grant application of $12,823 towards solar radar speed signs at the approaches to the intersection of Route 501 and East and West Reistville Road.
The project was among 36 projects approved by the eight-member application review committee, out of a total 151 applications. Overall, $15 million of $46 million in requests were able to be funded in this round of grants.
Grants are paid by fines from red light violations at 36 violations in Philadelphia.
