Heidelberg Township
Vehicle Accident, Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices – At 9:37 a.m. Jan. 21, a 2018 GMC Sierra driven by a 78-year-old West Lawn man accompanied by a 74-year-old Sinking Spring man was traveling south on SR 419 and failed to proceed properly after coming to a stop sign. A 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 16-year-old Newmanstown female was traveling east on SR 897 when the Chevrolet struck the passenger’s side of the GMC. The Chevrolet continued after the impact and hit the rear-end of an unoccupied 2005 Buick Rendezvous parked off SR 419. The GMC and the Chevrolet were towed from the scene. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts, although the West Lawn man was wearing his seatbelt improperly, and no injuries were reported. Police charged the West Lawn man with obedience to traffic-control devices.
Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 7:10 p.m. Jan. 28, a 2004 BMW X3 driven by a 17-year-old Denver male, accompanied by a 17-year-old Newmanstown male, was traveling north on Distillery Road when the BMW failed to negotiate a right curve and struck a tree on the left side of the road, causing disabling damage to the BMW’s front end. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and no injuries were reported. Police charged the driver with driving vehicle at safe speed.
Jonestown Borough
Criminal Mischief $1,000+ – On Jan. 30, police responded to the American Legion, at 334 N. Lancaster St., for property damage. Police determined that two juveniles had been riding their dirt bikes on the property without permission, causing $1,500 worth of damage to the baseball fields, grass, and stone. An investigation is ongoing.
North Cornwall Township
Theft – Sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 4, a 20-year-old Richland woman allegedly took merchandise held for sale by Kohl’s while employed as a cashier. Police charged her with theft at 6:48 p.m. Jan. 27.
Theft from Vehicles – At 5:22 a.m. Jan. 29, police responded to the Plaza Apartments in Carlton Court after many complaints of damages to and thefts from vehicles. Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact North Cornwall Township police at 717-274-0464. Police are advising citizens to make sure their vehicles are kept locked and to take any valuables out of them.
Liquor Law Violation, Drug Possession – At 1:35 a.m. Jan. 28, police pulled over a vehicle on the 2000 block of Cumberland Street and charged a 19-year-old Hershey woman and a 29-year-old Lebanon woman with a liquor law violation and possession of marijuana.
Public Drunkenness – At 10:54 p.m. Jan. 30, police responded to the 1600 block of Center Street for a report of someone trying to enter a shed and a truck. Police found a 49-year-old Lebanon man falling over and charged him with public drunkenness.
North Londonderry Township
Burglary – Police are investigating a forced entry burglary that occurred on the 500 block of South Lingle Avenue sometime between 3:15 and 4:15 a.m. Jan. 26. The homeowner and his son reported that someone cut several pickets to the fence in their backyard to gain access and then pried open a door to a shed. Once inside, the suspects, a 51-year-old Palmyra man and a 23-year-old Palmyra man, removed a white 2019 Yamaha YZ250 motorcycle, valued at $6,000, and pushed the motorcycle through the damaged fence. The suspects then pushed the motorcycle between two homes on Clover Lane, where they had parked their vehicle. A resident of Clover Lane provided video footage captured by his Ring camera security system of the suspects’ vehicle, a light-colored pickup truck, possibly a full-size Honda, parking near where the suspects walked the motorcycle out to Clover Lane. Theft By Unlawful Taking – At 2 p.m. Jan. 13, police investigated a theft that occurred at Londonderry Village on Dec. 24. Kathy Nguyen, 24, of Lebanon, was observed removing a gift bag, valued at $48.97, from the front desk of the facility. Police charged Nguyen with theft by unlawful taking. Charges were filed through MDJ Garver’s office.
Vehicle Accident, Required Position, Method of Turning – At 7:55 a.m. Feb. 2, police charged a 33-year-old Annville woman with a turning violation following an accident in which her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Lebanon woman while turning from Plaza Drive onto Killinger Road.
Palmyra Borough
Drug Possession, Restriction on Alcoholic Beverages, Driving While Suspended – At approximately 10:35 a.m. Jan. 8, police pulled over a vehicle on the 200 block of West Main Street and identified the driver as Rene Rodriguez Jr., 30, and the passenger as Carol Alejandro, 39. During the stop, police seized a glass pipe with meth inside it from Rodriguez and found in the vehicle two plastic straws containing cocaine residue and a half-empty bottle of liquor. The straws with cocaine belonged to Alejandro, and the meth pipe and liquor belonged to Rodriguez, police said. Police determined that both subjects had suspended licenses, and the vehicle did not have insurance. On Jan. 19, charges for possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Alejandro, and charges for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, restriction on alcoholic beverages, driving while operating privilege is suspended, and required financial responsibility were filed against Rodriguez at MDJ Garver’s office.
Bench Warrant – At approximately 7:44 p.m. Jan. 29, police pulled over a black Ford sedan on the 00 block of North Railroad Street and identified the driver as Aubrey Warner, 45, who was currently wanted out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear, with the original charge being fraudulently obtaining food stamps. Police took Warner into custody on the warrant and transported her to LCCB.
Receiving Stolen Property – Police charged Keon Washington, 32, with receiving stolen property on Jan. 20 as a result of an incident on Oct. 24. The stolen property was a bicycle, valued at approximately $400, that was taken from the 00 block of East Cherry Street.
Bench Warrant – On Jan. 30, police responded to the 300 block of North College Street and took Teagan Miller, 25, into custody on an outstanding bench warrant and transported him to LCCB.
Bench Warrant – At approximately 8:42 p.m. Jan. 23, police observed a vehicle traveling on the 800 block of East Main Street. The registered owner of the vehicle was Tanya Drake, 49, who has a bench warrant out of the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Office for fraudulent food stamps, which is a felony offense. Police placed her in handcuffs without incident and transported her to LCCB.
Theft, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment – At 9:03 a.m. Jan. 22, police responded to the Cadillac Motel for a report of theft and harassment. It was reported that a male showed up at the victim’s room overnight, acting disorderly and stealing the victim’s surveillance camera. Police identified the male as James Borchert, 53, and charged him with theft, disorderly conduct, and harassment on Jan. 27.
Assault – On Jan. 28, police responded to the 00 block of North Railroad Street for a report of a male who was bleeding from his head. Police found the male had been struck by an unknown male during an argument. Below is an image of the unidentified male in a black jacket as well as an image of the red vehicle he was operating. The vehicle also had a passenger and a white dog with a brown spot around its left side. Police are asking the public for information on the unknown male’s identity.
Update: The unidentified male above has since been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
South Lebanon Township
Drug Possession, General Lighting Requirements – At approximately 10 a.m. Jan. 29, police pulled over a vehicle on the 700 block of East Walnut Street and determined that the driver, David Massey Jr., 26, was in possession of a controlled substance. Police charged Massey with possession of a small amount of marijuana and general lighting requirements.
False Identification to Law Enforcement Authorities, Drug Possession – At approximately 2:25 p.m. Jan. 24, police pulled over a vehicle mentioned in a BOLO by the Pennsylvania State Police. During the traffic stop, Michael Rolon, 25, provided false information to officers and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police charged Rolon with false identification to law enforcement authorities and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shots Fired – At approximately 8:34 a.m. Feb. 2, police responded to the Wells Fargo Bank, at 850 E. Walnut St. and learned that employees found two bullet holes in the entry doors. The projectiles were located on the floor of the business’s foyer. The incident occurred sometime overnight. Video footage is being sought.
South Londonderry Township
Disorderly Conduct, Fraudulent Use of Registration Plate – At 11:39 p.m. Jan. 30, police responded to Valley Road for a suspicious vehicle. A vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Columbia man was located and determined to have the wrong plate on the vehicle. Police charged him with disorderly conduct and fraudulent use of registration plate.
Swatara Township
DUI Crash – At 1:31 p.m. Nov. 22, a 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Amanda Haldeman, 35, of Grantville, was traveling east on Quarry Road when it crossed into the west lane and hit a 2003 Honda Accord driven by a 34-year-old Lebanon woman accompanied by a 16-year-old Lebanon male, head on. After the initial impact, the Honda left the road and struck a tree on the west shoulder of the road. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. Haldeman sustained minor head injuries and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. The Lebanon woman was trapped inside the Honda and had to be extricated; she sustained major hip and leg injuries and was also transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. The juvenile passenger sustained minor chest pain from the seatbelt but refused transport. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and were towed from the scene. Police charged Haldeman with driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Vehicle Accident, Limitations on Overtaking on the Left – At 10:03 a.m. Jan. 23, a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven by a 69-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling north on SR 72, south of its intersection with Thompson Avenue. A 2012 Jeep Patriot driven by a 31-year-old Lebanon woman accompanied by a 52-year-old Lebanon woman, a 5-year-old Lebanon male, and a 14-year-old Lebanon female, was traveling north on SR 72 directly behind the Chrysler. The Chrysler began making a left turn onto Thompson Avenue. The Jeep attempted to pass the Chrysler on the left and struck the Chrysler on its driver’s side. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and no injuries were reported. Bunkerhill Fire Company assisted on the scene. Police charged the 31-year-old Lebanon woman with limitations on overtaking on the left.
