The Youth Only Day of Fishing is now in its 18th year and is for all youth 17 years and younger. This annual event give youth the opportunity to fish for stocked trout without the increased pressure from adults. This outing averages over 300 youth per year.

As in the past, trout, along with some trophy trout, will be stocked in the Myerstown Borough Park pond and the Tulpehocken Creek which runs along the park. Prizes will be awarded for various categories including largest trout caught. This is a free event which is made possible through the generosity of numerous individuals, businesses, and social clubs as well as community volunteers serving on the organizing committee.

The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2022. Children can register the day-of beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and will receive a snack bag upon registration.

Parents may assist their children; however, adults may not fish on their own. Additionally, any one 16 years old or over must possess a valid fishing license and trout permit. Per PA Fish Commission Regulations, a limit of five trout will be strictly enforced. This is a rain or shine event, and one of our more successful gatherings in the past happened to have occurred in the snow. Mark your calendars now!
