April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC) is hosting a Speak-Up Speak-Out event at Monument Park in Lebanon on April 27 at 3 p.m.
The event, in partnership with local students, businesses, and healthcare providers, aims to raise awareness of sexual assault, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and human trafficking.
Community members are invited to share their stories or offer support during the event, which will also feature nationally recognized author and speaker Marty Barth and 2022 Governor’s Victim Service Pathfinder Student Activist Awardee Amaya Rodriguez. Both speakers will take the stage beginning at 4 p.m.

Local counseling options and support resources will be available from 3 to 6 p.m., with SARCC sexual assault advocates on hand to provide information on healing services, practical tools, and resources. Additionally, no-cost Thriver Activity Stations, sponsored by UPMC, Fulton Bank, and others, will be open to participants.
A private space will be available for no-cost, confidential support from a sexual assault counselor during the event, courtesy of Are & Be Café.
