Carol E. Dernar, 83, of Annville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Richard “Dick” Dernar, who passed away in 2021. At the time of his death, they had celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. Hagerich, Sr., and Irene E. (Vorhauer) Hagerich.
Carol was a seamstress and enjoyed building puzzles, playing card games like Five Crowns, BINGO, shopping, and reading. Carol nourished her faith as a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville.
She is survived by six daughters, Schelley Brandle (David), of Sunrise, FL, Judith Cates, of Johnstown, Lee Ann Podgorney (Jim), of Annville, Patricia Stine, of Chambersburg, Mary Brickels (Robert), of Wilmington, NC, and Peggy Morcom (Paul), of Annville; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert L. Hagerich (Irene), of Johnstown.
Carol was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter B. Hagerich, Jr., Kenneth D. Hagerich, and Donald Meril Hagerich; and one son-in-law, Ron Stine.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
