James A. Sanders, 72, of Cleona, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Tina M. Sanders, who passed away in 2017.
Born in Hummelstown on March 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Harold F. and Ruth (Fike) Sanders. James graduated from Lower Dauphin High School, was a Veteran of the US Army, and went on to work as a Shipping Foreman at Hauck Manufacturing. During his younger years, he was well-known for his achievements in wrestling in high school, college and the Army. In his later years, James was involved in local youth softball, and with the travel softball team, The Heat.
Surviving are his children Beau Sanders and his wife Amanda of Lebanon, Jamie Sanders and her fiancé Lynn Rutt of Mt. Aetna, PA, Kaitlyn Thursby and her husband Evan of Benton, PA, Allix Sanders and her husband Ben Streifel of Columbia, MD; grandchildren Olivia and Micah Sanders; brother Daniel Sanders and sister Christine Gipe. He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Sanders.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
