James E. Schock, 71, of North Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Lebanon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Pottsville, PA, on Saturday, June 9, 1951.

James was a 1969 graduate of Cedar Crest High School. He earned a B.S. in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. For over 35 years, he worked in and out of the Mechanicsburg, PA office of the civil engineering firm Erdman Anthony, primarily as a road designer. He served as an usher at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lebanon, PA. A voracious reader and book collector, particularly of western novels and accounts of World War II and the Civil War, he also enjoyed collecting minerals and growing cacti, blueberries, raspberries, and tomatoes. He was an avid Hershey Bears fan.

His parents, James J. Schock and Dorothy E. (Balulis) Schock, and his brother, who died shortly after birth, Richard Schock, preceded James in death.

He is survived by his brother, Edward J. Schock, and his sister, Christine A. Barzensky, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
