Jay S. Dohner, 82, of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home.

He was born on Friday, February 21, 1941, to the late Myrl Taylor nee Dohner in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Jay was a member of the United States Air Force from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1965. After his discharge from the military, he worked as a maintenance mechanic at ALCOA until his retirement. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed hunting, trapping, working on cars, and volunteering his time at the Mt. Zion Community Fire Company Station 40 as a firefighter as well as fire police. He was also a member of the Lebanon County Auxiliary Patrol.

He is survived by his soulmate of 54 years, Gloria Dohner; children, Michael Dohner (Kimberly) and Jean Eby (Jason); grandchildren, Dylan Dohner (Kailtyn), Athena Lausch, and Collin Lausch; step-granddaughter, Tonya Sponenberg; great-grandchildren, Cooper Dohner, Indy-Jane Dohner, and Annalise Lausch; step-great-grandchildren, Tanner Miller, Chase Reidel, and Elaina Sponenburg; siblings, Gary Dohner, Glenn Taylor, James Taylor, Sharon Taylor, and Tina Anzalone.

He is predeceased by his brother, Robert Dohner.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 12 PM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Any who wish to process up to the cemetery with the family can arrive at Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, by 11:15 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jay’s memory to the Air Mobility Command Museum.
