Mark J. Wenrich, 71, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Sallie A. Felty Wenrich. On May 16th, they would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Born in Ravine on May 24, 1951, he was the son of the late Ralph and Alice Schach Wenrich.
Mark had worked for Guilford Textile, and then for ten years, he worked at Hershey Foods. He retired from Hollywood Casino, where he had worked in maintenance. For many years he served as the Fire Chief for the Ravine Fire Co. He enjoyed shooting darts, playing pool, hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in Clinton Co. He was an excellent woodworker, and he will be remembered for his jokes and his happy attitude. He loved his family and spending time with the grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Scott A. Benfer, and his fiancée, Beth Barto, of Fredericksburg, and Kevin C. Benfer, of Pine Grove; sisters, Peggy Stager, of Pine Grove, and Jill McHenry, of Pine Grove; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, and Nicholas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank “Skip” Wenrich, and sister, Claudia Wenrich.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
