Thomas J. Simpson, 80, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Elaine F. (Sheetz) Simpson, with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born in Lebanon on July 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Michael and Cecelia (Brannigan) Simpson.

Tom was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and a member of St. Mary’s Church. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for several years until his retirement. Tom was a member of Lebanon’s VFW Post 23, Maennerchor Club and Liberty Club. He was Notre Dame football’s biggest fan and followed the Philadelphia Eagles closely. Most of all, Tom enjoyed family camping trips to Hickory Run, watching old cowboy movies, and cold beer.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by three children – Thomas M. Simpson, Michael Simpson and his wife Lisa, and Deb Brubaker and her husband Gary; three grandsons – Michael Simpson and his wife Ashley, Tyler Simpson and his wife Tetiana, and Alex Brubaker; two great grandchildren – Nala Rose Simpson and Violet Saige Simpson; and a brother, Patrick Simpson and his wife Barb. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Marie Templin; two brothers – Joseph and Michael Simpson; and a sister, Patricia “Patsy” Principe.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 5th from 10:30-11:30am at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 South 9th Street, Lebanon, PA with a funeral service beginning at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 2 North 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046.
