Registration closes soon for the third annual Better Together event, created by local philanthropist and career nurse Jeanne Arnold.
The mission of Better Together is to unite organizations, ideas and resources to promote health and quality of life in Lebanon County. The organization is a partnership with Penn State PRO Wellness.
Registration for the conference is open through Sunday. The free event takes place October 9 from 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (breakfast provided). Proceedings will take place in the newly-opened Arnold Health Professions Pavilion.
Obesity, unemployment, and access/utilization of public services are all focuses of conversation. Although the data is a couple years old at this point, here’s how priorities looked when the umbrella group convened in 2016.
Previous speakers have included Sherry Capello (mayor of Lebanon), Lewis Thayne (president, Lebanon Valley College), Kenny Montijo (CEO, United Way of Lebanon County), Marianne Bartley (superintendent of Lebanon School District), Alice Yoder (director of Community Health, Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine), and Holly Dolan (director of education and outreach, Lebanon Family Health Services), Ann Smith (clinical consultant, Caron Treatment Center), and Bob Swanson (executive director, Lebanon County Youth Advocate Programs Inc.).
Better Together was examined last year in the Journal of Clinical and Translation Science for its effective community-engaged approach.
Better Together can be reached at 717-531-1440, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or found online if you have any questions. The event is also on Facebook.
