Thursday is the first day for the newest vendor to hit the Lebanon Farmers Market, Wilbur’s Lil Donuts. We caught up with co-owner Will Horn via email about the decision.

“We are super excited,” he said. “We had opportunities to choose some other markets, but when it came down to it we believed Lebanon Farmer’s Market had the best potential to help develop our brand, and us help grow Lebanon.” Horn’s cofounder is his “better half”, Kayla Wentz.

The only other place Wilbur’s Lil Donuts sells is Saturday’s Market in Middletown, but the company has plans to expand in 2019 into outside events.

Owner Horn grew up working in his father’s donut shop, and he say the donut game has changed tremendously since then.

“The economy was in a different place, there was no social media to promote. We are huge on social media!”

Will says that the options for marketing have increased ten-fold in the last couple decades, and he has access to an affordable iPad POS system that’s very different from the expensive credit card processors of days past.

Instagram has already played a big role in promotion of the Lebanon location, with Wilbur’s posting a pic of the new Lebanon manager earlier this week.

Here’s what their process looks like behind the scenes.

As a customer appreciation move, Wilbur’s recently introduced a loyalty program that can get you a free bag of donuts or a discount on your bucket purchase.

There is also a special discount with Wilbur’s famous bucket of donuts. Simply bring back the bucket next time for $1 off a refill.

Wilbur’s Lil Donuts will also be available for catering events hosted at the Farmers Market. Check out their contact page to get in touch.
