Yesterday Governor Tom Wolf announced that farmland owners in 14 counties will be eligible for United States Department of Agriculture disaster relief funding.

The announcement focused on Columbia, Lebanon, and York counties, but noted that the adjacent counties will also be eligible (Adams, Berk, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, and Sullivan).

This funding will provide relief to Pennsylvania farmers who dealt with a year of unexpected difficulties due to severe weather. I encourage those in eligible areas to apply, so that they can receive the assistance they need to help recoup losses ahead of the next growing season.

Governor Wolf

Farmers will be able to apply for loans that cover up to eight months after a state disaster declaration. More information is available at the USDA website.
