A hit and run flatbed driver caused mayhem and destruction last night at the PA Dutch County Resort last night beginning 11:15pm. The RV resort is located at the border of Lebanon County in West Cornwall Township, just north of the turnpike interchange.

According to a release by Cornwall Borough Police Department, the truck turned into the compound from the northbound (Lebanon-bound) lane of State Route 72.

The truck driver proceeded to crash what appeared to be a loaded flatbed truck into the stop gate and then into the guard house, before turning around and fleeing. The release says that early damage estimates run into the thousands of dollars.

Anyone who may have information regarding the hit & run vehicle is asked to contact Cornwall Borough PD at 717-274-2071.
