It seems like a safe bet that no one in Jonestown in 1873 would have predicted that some nearly 150 years later, their local Jonestown Bank would be the only one left headquartered in Lebanon County.

It’s a fact that Jonestown Bank & Trust Chief Operations Officer Ed Martel likes to point out when talking about the new Smile Center located at the former Hauck Manufacturing/Honeywell building in Cleona.

There are still a couple renovations planned but Jonestown Bank & Trust has been operating the Smile Center out of the former Hauck Manufacturing building for more than six months now (the signs just went up recently – thanks to the LebTown reader who gave us the tip).

Although the location isn’t open to the public and doesn’t offer any retail services, there are plenty of ways you might interact with teams based here.

The name “Smile Center” is a play on the bank’s tagline, Bank on a Smile. The building contains a myriad of JBT back-office functions. For instance, the Client Resource Center (CRC) is the staff that responds to the secure messages you send through your online banking system and picks up the phone when you call JBT directly. This “one-stop shop” for client needs currently handles upwards of 80,000 calls annually.

The Smile Center also contains the teams that draft loan and mortgage documents, as well as the dealer department which provides indirect auto financing at local dealerships.

In total about 50 employees will be based at the Smile Center. This figure includes a number of newly created jobs, although most were relocated from literal back-office areas of the Cleona and Ebenezer locations.

The office is about 9,000 SF, a significant size but just a fraction of the overall mostly industrial site now available for lease.
