A 21 year old West Chester man is dead following a crash last night in Heidelberg Township, according to a report by Penn Live.

The driver, a 20 year old Lancaster man, was said to be seriously injured and flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

The crash occurred while the vehicle was moving northbound on Hopeland Road in Heidelberg Township and “failed to negotiate a curve near Canaan Grove Road.” The Penn Live report indicates that the car went off the right shoulder and struck a tree.

The location of the crash is close to the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.

LebTown has requested, but not yet received, additional info from the Pennsylvania State Police. We will update this post when more information is available.

Update 2pm: LebTown has received more information from Pennsylvania State Police. According to the release, the driver displayed signs of intoxication before he was transported to Hershey Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. In addition to the State Troopers, Schaefferstown Fire Company and Schaefferstown Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
