According to a report by CBS 21, an armed man attempted to enter Jonestown Elementary school this afternoon.
The report says that State Police responded to the school after receiving reports that a suspicious man was in the Jonestown Borough talking to students. The man then apparently tried to enter Jonestown Elementary with school officials noticing a gun and contacting police themselves.
The report says that a footchase ensued, followed by the man stealing a Jonestown Borough vehicle. He is now in custody.
The incident held up dismissal.
According to the WGAL-8 report, there will be counselors on hand tomorrow for studens and staff to talk to someone.
